SARC tests Goodfellow’s SAPR knowledge Published May 3, 2016 By Airman 1st Class Chase Sousa 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 17th Training Wing Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office hosted the sixth annual Sexual Assault Response Coordinator Challenge, April 30. The challenge involved multiple locations where participants performed tasks such as finding green golf tees in grass, filling up buckets with water using a sponge, unfolding frozen T-shirts and more. After each challenge participants answered a question relating to SAPR correctly, allowing them to move on to the next location. “It’s about building teamwork and them coming together and communicating,” said Donna Casey, 17th TRW/SARC. “We give them riddles and they have to figure out where to go on base, then they are given a challenge and a SARC question to answer at every location.” More than 10 teams participated in the event with competitors ranging from children to adults. “This event really gives participants more of a chance to learn about SARC,” said Airman 1st Class Lourdes Vega, 316th Training Squadron student. Competitors conquered eight challenges before the event concluded. “We want to get participants up and about to realize sexual assault prevention is a lot about team work and communication,” said Casey. “We’re trying to teach them to look out for each other and that the Air Force is one big team.”
