Wingman Week supports comradery Published May 15, 2015 17th Training Wing Public Affairs GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- May 18 marks the beginning of Wingman Week, a week dedicated to build camaraderie among base personnel through various events May 18 to 22. This year's Wingman Week consists of the following events: May 19 Storytellers and burger burn: base theater from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tech. Sgt. Garreth R. Laney, 315th Training Squadron Commander support staff NCO in charge, said the event will feature Airmen's stories of hope, changing perspective, facing adversity and leadership experiences. He also said the stories will be interesting for the targeted audience. May 20 Volunteer and Education Fair: Carswell Field House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local non-profit organizations come to recruit military volunteers. Several base organizations and colleges will also attend to provide information on their services. May 21 Safety day: base theater 8:30 a.m. to noon. The event will feature information booths and activities including motorcycle safety, fire extinguisher training, sexual assault prevention and more. During the event, Street Smarts presenters will provide an educational course explaining the body trauma caused in a vehicle accident. Waffle ra-IDS: Taylor Chapel 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. "It's going to be a good event, so please come out and enjoy free chicken and waffles provided by the Chapel," said Staff Sgt. Noah G. Wells, 17th Training Wing chaplain assistant. "We try and provide a relaxed, stress free environment for the students, and an opportunity for permanent party to come get some food as well and mingle with everyone."
