The fourth generation TRICARE Pharmacy contract, TPharm4, kicked off on May 1, and features new web services.

The contract remains with Express Scripts meaning that beneficiaries should not experience any disruption in their pharmacy benefits. Express Scripts is offering new web services to help beneficiaries manage their prescription drugs.

When logging onto Express Scripts' new website, www.express-scripts.com/tricare, individuals will see there are some enhanced features on the prescription dashboard. First, individuals can see all their current prescriptions, check their status, turn on or off the automatic refills and order refills of the Home Delivery prescriptions. They will also be able to see which prescriptions are currently on backorder through Home Delivery, and track them once they are available again. Finally, they can view current and recent explanations of benefits on the web, which show any prescription claims filed in recent months and now include prescriptions filled at a military pharmacy.

Another resource that is moving to the Express Scripts website is the formulary search tool. This was on the TRICARE pharmacy site, but a revamped, more user-friendly version is now available at www.express-scripts.com/tricareformulary. The search tool also directly links to medical necessity and prior authorization forms for medications that require them.

Also coming later in May will be Defense Department Self-service Logon capability for the Express Scripts website. This means individuals can use their DS Logon or CAC to login and view their profile and manage prescriptions.
