Earth week at Goodfellow schedule of events Published April 15, 2015 By Art Silver 17th Training Wing Civil Engineer Squadron GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Earth Day is an annual global event which started in 1960's to draw national attention to environmental stewardship. This year's official Air Force theme is "Conserve Today, Secure Tomorrow" with an emphasis on recycling, which is just one important part of pollution prevention. Goodfellow's own Earth Week seeks to promote maximum base wide participation and community partnerships. This year's schedule of base wide events is as follows: Saturday 18 April 9 a.m. to noon Adopt-A-Highway cleanup event sponsored by Company Grade Officer Association. Please contact 1st Lt. Tuesday 21 April All-day event - Base-wide Carpool Day All members of GAFB are encouraged to share rides to and from work to help reduce regional air emissions. 9 am to 2 pm. Water & Energy awareness table will be available in Exchange food court area. Wednesday 22 April 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - "Official Earth Day" Green Products awareness tables will be availablein the Exchange/Commissary.
