The Center for Information Warfare Training Detachment Goodfellow hosted a pinning ceremony for fiscal year 2017’s chief petty officers Sept. 16.

The ceremony included the pinning of the chiefs, the placing of the CPO combination cap atop the chief’s heads and several speeches.

Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Allen, CIWT Detachment Officer in Charge, addressed the new chiefs as they enter into the next phase of their career.

“You’re entering an amazing brotherhood exclusive to the Navy,” said Allen. “This step is more than a pay raise and a new uniform. It’s a heritage and respect that has been built upon and maintain by brother and sister chiefs since 1893 and that shall not be tarnished. You’ve made us proud, continue to make us proud by your future actions and examples. I wish you the very best in your futures and again, congratulations.”
