Be confident: we're ready

At my commander's call last Wednesday, I reminded the men and women of Team Goodfellow of why I am confident about next week's Unit Compliance Inspection. If you missed it, here it is again: this inspection is just validation of Team Goodfellow's success.

For the past six months (longer, in some cases), you have worked hard to prepare for the UCI. Each week for 12 weeks, the 17th Training Wing Plans and Programs office, Public Affairs office and the 17th Force Support Squadron gave Team Goodfellow tips on standards, dress and appearance, leave and family care plans to help you get ready.

We've polished our already-impressive programs until they shine. We've taken the mantra "there is always room for improvement" to heart, improving on our programs and going the extra mile to make them not just comply with standards, but exceed the standards.

We're prepared for this inspection because we're prepared for our mission: to train the finest Joint Intelligence, Firefighter and SPINSTRA professionals, and to develop, prepare and deploy warriors. We are the premier Agile Joint Center of Excellence in Air Education and Training Command, and this inspection will validate that.

I encourage you to speak proudly and confidently about your programs, and about the other squadrons and programs on Goodfellow Air Force Base. You've earned the right to be proud, now show the inspectors why they should be proud: they have units like yours in their command. I know that I am proud to have you in mine.

With a community of professionals like we have at Team Goodfellow, an "Outstanding" rating is not only attainable but also well deserved.

We can achieve this, because we're ready.
