Welcome back, Team Goodfellow!

As you return from Exodus or come back to work after spending the holidays with your family, I'd like to wish you the best for the upcoming year. 2007 was quite a year for us, and I have high hopes for 2008 as well.

Last year, we hosted visits from the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Gen. T. Michael Moseley, as well as the 2nd Air Force commander, Maj. Gen. Michael Gould. Both generals were impressed with how Team Goodfellow came together during their visits. In 2008, we'll be keeping up that excellent track record by hosting the commander of Air Education and Training Command, Gen. William Looney III.

We're hosting an air show March 15 here in San Angelo, featuring the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Team (the Thunderbirds), among others. This event has been many months in the making and I hope to see you all there.

The 17th Medical Group will be inspected this year so the rest of the Air Force can see the hard work put in by our medical personnel here at Team Goodfellow. I have the utmost confidence in our team at the MDG and am looking forward to seeing them in action.

As we continue to support U.S. military operations around the world, we can expect the deployment tempo to remain constant. I am proud of the way Team Goodfellow has stepped up to the challenges of supporting this War on Terrorism. Thanks for supporting our operations while keeping the Wing mission going.

Finally, we're heading for another Operational Readiness Inspection in May 2009. We'll use 2008 to make sure you and your sections are continuing to meet and exceed the standards set for us by the Air Force, and seek to improve performance wherever possible as we head toward the inspection.

Thank you again for your selfless service to this great nation in 2007, and may 2008 be for all of you and your families the best possible new year.
