Lance Cpl. Michael Coleman, 316th Training Squadron student, is the Goodfellow Student of the Month Spotlight for February, a series highlighting exceptional Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines.

17th Training Wing Public Affairs: What led you to join the military?

Coleman: I’m the third generation of my family that’s joined the Marine Corps. I just wanted to do something greater. I was looking for something that would test me as a man.

What has been the most impactful moment in your career so far?

Having some instructors that I really respect come up, shake my hand and tell me they wouldn’t mind serving with me in combat.

What are your hobbies?

I do a lot of fitness training, lacrosse and I love to read.

What do you want to accomplish during your time here at Goodfellow Air Force Base?

Graduate from the course, become a better Marine, better service member and learn a little bit about Texas.
