17 MDG hosts annual Retiree Health Fair Published Nov. 7, 2008 By David Martin Goodfellow Health and Wellness Center GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Please join us at the retiree health fair presented by the 17th Medical Group on Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the clinic! This health fair is designed to provide health screening for retired members of the armed forces and their dependents. Information on current retiree benefits and services, both local and outside of the community, will be presented and the following medical services also will be offered: height, weight and blood pressure checks, diabetes/nutrition/fitness counseling, oral cancer prevention and protection, stress management, glaucoma screening, TRICARE enrollment information, water quality, back care, provider preventative screenings, estate planning, breast and cervical cancer awareness, drug demand reduction, flu vaccines and public health information. Representatives from TRICARE, Retiree Dental Program, the Goodfellow Pharmacy, 17 MDG Women's Health, Johnson Funeral Home, the HAWC, 17 MDG Physical Therapy, the Defense Commissary Agency and pharmaceutical representatives will be available to answer questions and provide information. The purpose of these examinations is to assess individual and family health risks, improve health awareness, and offer behavior change interventions and resources.
