Airman 1st Class Michael E. Strand, 315th Training Squadron student, is the Goodfellow Student of the Month Spotlight for March, a series highlighting exceptional Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines.

17th Training Wing Public Affairs: What led you to join the Air Force?
Strand: I watched Top Gun when I was five.

What’s been the most impactful moment in your career so far?
The most impactful moment in my career is graduating from basic training with my wife. We graduated BMT at the same time.

What is your life like off duty?
I’m a commercial pilot, so I fly a lot.

What do you want to accomplish during your time here at Goodfellow Air Force Base?
I want to graduate with honors. I was a top graduate in basic training and I want to continue that in technical training.
