Chili masters compete at 38th annual cook-off
SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Marty Penell works the grill while his father, Johnny Penell prepares the chicken during the 38th Annual Armed Forces Chili Cookoff at the Recreation Camp Sept. 24. Along with Vickie Pennell, Marty's mother and Johnny's wife, they group called themselves the Hooking Bull team. This was the team's sixth year participating in the cookoff, with four trophies under their belt. This year they entered in each competition: Ribs, Chicken, Baked Beans and Chili.
