2007 Toys for Tots campaign kicks off
Air Force Capt. Teresa Strickland from 17th Mission Support Squadron, wearing civilian clothes, writes a check to the United States Marines Corps Toys for Tots program during a visit Oct. 20 to the Texas Coffee Co. in San Angelo, Texas, while Lance Cpl. Adam Diament (far right) stacks toy donations and Lance Cpl. Gideon Bradshaw looks on. The Texas Coffee Co. was selected for this year’s local Toys for Tots Campaign kickoff. Annual Toys for Tots campaigns are conducted throughout the nation from Oct. 1 through Dec. 24. From the 1948 coverage of campaigns in 74 communities in 25 states and Washington D.C., the program coverage has expanded to campaigns in approximately 600 communities covering all 50 states, the Districts of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Since its beginning in 1947 Toys for Tots has distributed nearly a billion toys for over 250 million children. (Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Luis Loza Gutierrez)
