Prayer at the Pole
Servicemembers and civilians bow their heads in respect as Chaplain (Capt.) Martin Barnes,17th Training Wing Chapel office, kneels and leads the group in a prayer Sept. 27. The group of more than two dozen people gathered by the flag pole located in front of the Norma Brown Headquarters Building as part of a voluntary event called See You at the Pole. See You at the Pole is scheduled annually on the fourth Wednesday in September. SYATP began in Burleson, Texas, in 1990, and has since become an international event. In 2005, students from 16 countries participated in the gatherings at different schools in Central and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia.
