Student officer wins fitness competition
(From left to right) Master Sgt. Reginald McKnight, Mathis Fitness Center fitness superintendent; Martin Littlefield, Mathis Fitness Center director and Tech. Sgt. Thelma Soltero, fitness director, pose for a group photo around Reginoploy winner, Capt. Ed Miller, a military intelligence student from the 315th Training Squadron July 12 at Mathis Fitness Center. Capt. Miller placed first in the center’s three-month-long fitness competition called Reginopoly, styled after the popular American board game of Monoploy. The captain was awarded a video game entertainment system for finishing first. From April 1-June 30, the captain played the game by performing various types of physical workouts according to the location he landed on the board. “It seemed like a lot of fun,” said Capt. Miller. “I liked the mix of different exercise incorporated in the competition. Competitions like this are a great way to augment a person’s standard workout.” Reginopoly was the center’s quarterly fitness competition for the second quarter of this year. The fitness center’s new quarterly fitness program is “Make a Splash.” It runs July 1-September 30. For more information about the program, call the fitness center at 654-3242.
