Keeping the water running

Joe Pierce, a plumber with the 17th Civil Engineer Squadron, applies some elbow grease to unscrew a pipe from the no-longer-serviceable boiler which used to heat the water of Building 356. Mr. Pirece and two other 17 CES members replaced the old boiler with a new water heater Friday. The workers replaced the old boiler in response to reports received by the base housing office from Bldg. 356 resident of there not being hot water for their showers. The three-man crew’s managed to restore running water to the showers the same day (Friday) the installation started. Dorm residents were delighted in discovering that hot water had been restored the following day. “It was good to know that the housing office was quick to get someone to fix the hot water problem. We (dorm residents) didn’t think the workers were going to do the job that quickly,” said Airman 1st Class Daniel Sanchez. “I’m sure a lot of us are glad we don’t have to take cold showers anymore.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Luis Loza Gutierrez)
