DOD fire academy trains vertical ventilation

U.S. Air National Guard Airman Toryon Clyburn, 312th Training Squadron fire protection student, arrives at the egress point in order to join his partner on the artificial rooftop in an emergency operations training exercise, at the Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy on Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, Dec. 10, 2020. Clyburn followed a strict rule of “two in, two out,” which required the buddy system in the fire service whenever operating in an “Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health” atmosphere, such as vertical ventilation training.
