Mark Dumdie, 17th Training Wing Safety motorcycle safety program manager, explains how an airbag vest functions during a motorcycle safety meeting at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, Aug. 14, 2026. The vest includes a lanyard that attaches to a motorcycle seat or horse saddle, and it features a gas cartridge that will automatically inflate the airbag once it detects a fall or accident that ejects the rider.
