  • Oshkosh FWD P-2 Basics

    The P-2 replaced the O-11 in the Air Force inventory as the front-line combat aircraft crash vehicle.

    The last base to have P2 crash trucks in service was the Francis S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base with the 106th Rescue Wing. In 2007, the last one was finally taken out of service.

  • History of Goodfellow's 1962 P-2

    Built in 1962 and assigned to Chanute AFB, Illinois, the twin-engine P-2 on display was converted from gasoline to diesel power in 1983 before moving with the fire school to Goodfellow AFB, Texas a decade later.

    On exhibit at Goodfellow since restoration in 2003, the vehicle is part of the historic firefighting vehicles on display at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
