Built by Amertek Incorporated of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, the versatile 2500L was capable of fighting ground and structural fires while its selective two- and four-wheel drive capabilities enabled it to travel off road as well. The US Army ordered 362 of these vehicles and the trucks were delivered from 1987 to 1991. The trucks were delivered in two colors (yellow for US domestic bases and red for foreign bases).
