The P-20 was designed as an airfield surveillance vehicle also known as the Ramp Patrol vehicle. The vehicle would patrol the flightline during aircraft generations and exercises, as a quick response vehicle. The P-20 is a Ford F-350 with a twin chemical agent (halon and dry chemical) skid unit. Halon is no longer carried on the P-20s still in service.
