Airman’s got her beer goggles on

Wearing specially-designed “beer goggles,” an Airman attempts to navigate an obstacle course while simulating the effects of being intoxicated while driving. The obstacle course was one of several interactive activities set up for guests at the 2007 Safety Expo at Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy. The expo was the feature event of Goodfellow’s 2007 Safety Day, which took place May 23. “Safety Day is designed to inform and educate people on how to keep themselves, their families and others around them safe, especially during the 101 Critical Days of Summer,” said Tech. Sgt. Ignacio Castro-Luna of the 17th Training Wing Safety office. Air Force safety statistics have shown that the 101 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day has traditionally been a period of increased mishaps, especially those occurring in off-duty activities.
