311 TRS student awarded Joint Service Achievement Medal
Lieutenant Colonel Paul Issler, 311th Training Squadron commander, congratulates Airman 1st Class Michael Burbridge’ after Airman Burbridge was awarded the Joint Service Achievement Medal Jan. 25 at the Presidio of Monterey, Calif. Airman Burbridge, a Pashto-language linguist student with the 311 TRS, was awarded the JSAM for his duties as assistant to the NCO in charge for the Presidio of Monterey Joint Service Funeral Detail. His joint service detail was responsible for paying proper respects to veterans at 50 funerals while projecting the highest military professional image to the surrounding community of Monterey, Calif. Airman Burbridge is also the Airman leader / red rope flight commander for the 430-person 311 TRS Raptor Flight. He is from Mount Vernon, Iowa, and will graduate in March. His effectiveness as a leader enabled him to recruit, train, and maintain accountability of 60 Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers and Marines. Airman Burbridge hopes to be assigned to either a EC-130E Senior Scout reconnaissance aircraft or as an Air Force Special Operations Command direct support operator.
