The mission of the Goodfellow Air Force Base Honor Guard is
to represent Airmen to the American public and the world.
The vision of the USAF Honor Guard is to ensure a legacy of
Airmen who: promote the mission, protect the standards, perfect the image, and
preserve the heritage.
We serve 28 counties and over 36,000 square miles of
central Texas. Our primary function is to perform full military honored
funerals for veterans, retirees, and active-duty Air Force members.
We also provide non-funeral
related services at various base events to include: retirements, promotion and
change of command ceremonies. We also support off-base
requests such as: parades, flag-folding demos, Prisoner of War and Missing in
Action table ceremonies, and weddings. Furthermore, we work closely with our sister service
counterparts, in which we have the opportunity to perform these services in a joint
capacity at major venues and parades.
17th Training Wing members can apply to join the Goodfellow Air Force Base Honor Guard by contacting their unit First Sergeant/Shirt and completing the Base Honor Guard contract form and meeting the prerequisites outlined in the document. This contract will need to be routed through the member’s chain of command for approval and signature. The finalized version needs to be emailed to the Base Honor Guard Program Manager(s): firstname.lastname@example.org
Selected members will be contacted to attend the two-week initial training course.
Please below for the corresponding request you wish to submit. Further instructions will be provided for each type of request.
